Who we are
We are two individuals with knowledge and experience in software engineering and web development. We’ve worked for large companies and (successful) start-ups as developers and both have a Masters in Software Engineering.

What we’re creating
We are currently developing an Android application that allows users to speak to people nearby. The application will be infused with social networking and some clever ways of advertising. Our application will be competing against companies such Foursquare, Gowalla, Groupme and some smaller players.

Though this is an open application our target audience is university students (undergraduate and postgraduates). We have already started developing and marketing the application with a clear vision of how it will work and its underlying benefits to the users. As a result, we have a growing user-base.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a top-notch, obsessive geek who just programs all night for the hell of it. You need to be obsessed with user experience, fixing bugs, and is a natural at writing algorithms. We are looking for someone who has released at least one android app on the market and has a solid knowledge of java. This is not negotiable. Ideally you’d have some designs skills as well.

We are looking for someone that is timely, clever, and can possibly take on the role as lead developer of the application. You need to be able to understand code at glance and so passionate about it you eat, sleep and breathe programming.

Programming skill:
- Java expert, lover and obsessive
- Android Developer
- PHP, Prosody, Ejabber, Openfire/tigase, SmackAPI, XMPP, HTTPS, SOAP, REST, Frameworks (Yii, CodeIgniter), MVC pattern, Twitter/Facebook/Foursquare API,

Database
LAMP, PostgreSQL, rational database design, stored procedures, reporting, triggers, security, overall administration.

Design skill
Adobe Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, and Photoshop, with strong UI/Layout, mockup skills and branding.

Front-end
HTML5/CSS3, local storage, web sockets, geolocation, jQuery, cross platform coding, cross device coding, semantics, SEO, etc

These skills are not absolutes, but serves as a general basis. However, it goes without saying that you need to be timely, proactive and can adapt to changing requirements at short notice.

Opportunities
We have done the heavy lifting in term of the idea, how it will be implemented, marketed and have demonstrated this in a business plan. All we need is a keen developer to help build and develop a magical application. We aim to raise funds and get accepted into an accelerator program within the next few months, as we have a great relationship with a board member. The sooner the candidate is able to start the better. With that said the following will be available to the chosen candidate:

- 3-5% equity in the company (based on experience)
- A direct opportunity to help shape and build the company
- Possibility of taking on the role as lead developer (and eventually CTO)
- The opportunity to help formulate ideas and develop a successful application (and a lasting company)
- The ability to help build the team as the chosen candidate will be hands on in selecting future employees
